But moose hides are limited….it’s not like I can call up the local moose farm and get a bunch of hides lol…. But we did put aside 70 or so half hides to do into Light Cream this year and they just arrived from the tannery. #1 grade hides…great colour, ultra soft…we are very happy with them. Enjoy!!

Pale Cream Moose Leather 3.5 oz- Half Hides
152$ US – 223$ USWe have a new colour!!! Pale Cream. The grain is very fine, colour is super even and the tone is light ‘cafe au lait’. The suede side is an old school rustic cream that has a slight green touch to it. Old ‘ranch style leather’. These are really beautiful halves.

130$ USBrand New to the Tribal line of leathers. Cork brown coloured bison leather makes the unique texture of these hides stand out. These are farmed animals, very nice hides. Very soft and supple and easily sewn by hand. Will make amazing moccasins, mukluks, bags, vests and jackets. Half bison pieces and are quite huge running from 17 sq ft to 24 sq ft. We have committed to purchasing a bunch of Bison over the next few months. We want to add a full line of Bison colours to our Tribal mix…..watch for more to come. We have ‘seconds’ (Seconds are defined by smooth side/grain side dyings is a bit blotchy but suede side is perfect)

Black Moose Leather 3.5 oz – Half Hides
81$ US – 203$ USCelebration time….we have half moose in black 3.5!! Very limited supply. In the Laurentian Mountains (where we live) most moose are cut into quarters in order to carry the moose out of the bush…..practically carrying a full moose out of the bush is really challenging. But each year we do get a bunch of whole moose and then sometimes some half moose. These are half hides #1 grade, simply beautiful black hides. We don’t have many…they will disappear very quickly.

SO most of the hides we get are also quarter moose. BUT we do have a few hides every year that are halves….cut down the spine. Now some people love to buy full whole moose. But it is quite emotional and challenging to take a pairs of scissors to a whole moose…cuz it’s jsut so perfect you don’t want to cut it up…..but half hides…OMG wonderful to work with…lots of leather…also not as expensive as a full moose…and the nicest leather you could imagine. Enjoy!!

We gather hides from people who are feeding their families but don’t need the hides….Our tannery called to notify us that these are the best moose hides they have seen in years!!! He said, “how the heck did you get such nice clean hides, they are almost perfect!!”

“Deer Tanned” Cow Leather 2.5 oz
59$ US – 148$ US“Deer Tanned” Cow is a specialty request leather. This is Cow leather that we tan using the exact tanning techniques as we use for making deer leather. Same softness and same thickness BUT they are huge!!! A large deer runs around 12 sq ft but these hides start at 15 and go as large as 28 sq ft. So if you are working on a large product and need large hides for patterns etc….then ‘deer tanned’ cow is ideal. AND these are perfect hides…no wild scarring, no awkward bullet holes…just clean perfect hides!! AND cheaper than deer at $7.50 per square foot. Enjoy!!
