  • Four Directions Smudge Kit

    In Native teachings we call in the directions of East, South, West & North and all of our lessons are brought to us from the directions.   The Four Directions also bring us four medicines that represent each directions.  Semah, Cedar, Sage and Sweetgrass.   We wanted of offer a kit that had all the four medicines included…ready to go!!  Each Smudge Kit includes a linen bag of organic leaf semah, a linen bag of cedar, a linen bag of loose white sage and a braid of sweetgrass, as well as a large abalone shell and a small fan.  The kit comes in a 10″ x 14″ large linen bag that has a tie to keep everything safe inside.

    **  Feather fans can only be shipped within Canada.  For our USA customers we are now offering just our most amazing Abalone Shells and Extra Sage (NO feather fan). 

    PLEASE NOTE the Abalone Shell and Sage options will NOT include a fan or linen bag.

    We make four different styles/designs of fans which can be used for smudging or dancing.  For quite some time now we have had requests to offer these separate from our smudge kits and so we have make it nice and simple.  Our four fans are Small Leather Wrapped, Maple Wood Stick Fan, Large Cedar Wood Leather Wrapped & Real Goose Wing Leather Wrapped.

    Cannot ship feather fans to the USA.

  • White Sage Smudge Kits

    We are offering 4 different White Sage Smudge Kits with different sizes/styles of fans.  In the Native American tradition every ceremony begins with smudging.  Smudging is the burning of sacred herbs such as sweetgrass, white sage, cedar etc, with the intention of purification of body and mind.
    Our Smudge Kits include:
    1 farmed Abalone shell, 1 bag of White Sage and 1 Fan (Small Leather Wrapped, Maple Wood Stick Fan, Large Cedarwood Leather Wrapped & Real Goose Wing Leather Wrapped)
    Each kit will include a text on smudging and a 10″ x 12″ Linen Bag

  • Porcelain Smudge Bowls

    We designed these hand made Porcelain Smudge Bowls with our potter friend to create a better Abalone shell.  In the native community we love to use Abalone shells for smudging because their natural holes help feed the coals and the bowl is deep enough that it holds the smudge well while burning.  Our porcelain smudge bowls are designed to look JUST like abalone.  They have a rough back, holes to air the coals, smooth polished inner ‘shell’ which will not burn, peel or stain and can be washed, even in the dishwasher.  The really unique and practical thing about our ‘shells’ is that they won’t heat up while smudging.

  • “DIY” Medicine Bags Kits

    One of the handiest things around the fire or gathering is a nice smudge kit or medicine bag.  Recently we have had several people ask if they could make it themselves….and who are we to say no!!  Our 8″ Smudge Bag Kit consists of a front and back piece of moose leather, a moose leather strap, Sinew, glovers needles AND very careful clear instructions on how to assemble your bag.  The kit also include a fan (that we make for you) and farmed abalone shell and a linen bag of Californian Buffalo/White Sage.
    Attention USA customers: we are not permitted to ship feathers into the United States.  Our thought is to add more white sage and a piece of leather to your Medicine Bag Kit to compensate for the missing fan.  AND perhaps this is an opportunity to make your own fan. We use a small branch, drill holes and glue feathers into the branch.  Then you can wrap the wood with leather we have included.
