  • Feather Boxes

    45$ Canadian
Our feathers help ground us and bring us clarrity.  We wanted to make a feather case/box that would carry that respect we have for our feathers.  We spent a long recently recently designing what we thought was the perfect, coolest feather box we could come up with and we are very happy with the outcome.  (feather NOT included)

In the Native tradition we are taught to care for our feathers as they will help is in our search for peace and truth. Our feathers help ground us and bring us clarrity. We wanted to make a feather case/box that would carry that respect we have for our feathers.  (feather NOT included)

We spent a long recently recently designing what we thought was the perfect, coolest feather box we could come up with and we are very happy with the outcome.

The frame is Eastern White Cedar, which is 18” long, 5 1/2” wide and 1 1/4” deep.  We routered out the interior of each side leaving a 5/8th” cavity inside to properly hold a feather.  We created an “old school” hinge with 5 1/2 ounce moose leather fastened with glue and 10 solid copper tacks.  Our boxes fasten with two moose leather ties the come up from the bottom and wrap around a moose antler button on the lid of the box.  Inside each box we have attached red felt to hold our feathers carefully in place.  Each box is carefully finished with 3 coats of varnish.

  • Bear grease

    20$ Canadian

Bear Grease is a traditional native american medicine. Black Bears have an unusual amount of fat on their bodies because they spend summers building up energy for hibernation. Over the winter Bears survive on this energy through their fat build up. For hunters who are eating the meat, the fat is not generally used. We have asked our network of butchers to carefully harvest and put aside Bear fat for us.

These scissors are wonderfully designed to fit your hand.  When cutting rawhide lacing or strips of leather we can spend hours on a pair of scissors and an uncomfortable handle is the worst!!  A bad handle creates blisters, cramping of the hand and throwing of scissors.  But these sissors are just perfect. Wonderfully angled so that your hand will fit comfortable in the scissors for hours at a time. The edge is, as described “razor sharp” and stay sharps longer than any scissor we have worked with.

  • Dog Rawhide Chews

    12$ Canadian

This product comes strongly recommended by every dog in the neighbourhood!! We have been making drums for over 20 years and very quickly started taking the scraps rolling them up, letting them dry and giving them to our dogs. There are no preservatives, colouring, flavour added….just pure Rawhide. Dogs visiting out house rush in the door past legs and our dogs to grab a dog chew from our basket…..so one of our dogs suggested during a family business meeting that we add them to our web site. Who were we to say no…so nice of him to share….

  • Hole Punch

    80$ Canadian

We certify this Amazing Hole Punch!! As Drum makers we punch A LOT OF HOLES, in fact, Natives Punch A LOT OF HOLES!!
For years we were using those cheap commonly available punches but our arms were falling off. Those old punches require an impossible amount of physical force didn’t even cut a clean hole. Finally after buying every brand of punch available we discovered the wonderful Sprenger Hole Punch. This German made hole punch has a lever or ratchet action and requires 70% less physical force to cut holes. Cutting holes even through even the thickest of moose leather or raw hide is a breeze. Effortless!! You will be astonished!! The punch features 6 different sizes of holes. The only problem was that it wasn’t available in Canada….arg…so after a year of wheeling and dealing we are happy to announce that we are the first distributors of the Sprenger Hole Punch in canada…. The punch is not cheap, but at $80 this might be the very last hole punch you ever buy.

  • Moose Leather Wrapped Goose Wing Fans

    45$ Canadian
We have been not so much hunters but very good gatherers for a very long time.  Locally each year people hunt goose and snow goose legally along the Saint Laurence river near Montreal.  They eat the meat but the wings are not used.  We have arranged for an outfitter to save the wings for us.  Last year we brought them down a huge freezer…..when they filled it we drvoe down and picked up the wings.  We did this two time last fall and we are very well stocked in wings and feather.  They would have ended up all in the garbage.  We did not kill these birds for the feathers.  In our tradition we use all that is possible, we respect the lives of those around us and feel that to extend the medicine of these winged ones is respect for theri gift.
These Fans are used for many purposes.  They are great for Smudging (burning medicines, sage, sweetgrass etc) and blowing /moving the smoke over someone/thing to be blessed or cleansed.  Our fans are also very popular for dancers.  In Powwows both men and women dancers have fans as part of their regalia.  These are perfect.
Of our wood fans we make them out of Eastern Cedar and Butternut. (if you have a preference please specify in commence section at check out or send us an email)
