  • Moose Leather Wrapped Goose Wing Fans

    45$ Canadian
**  Shipment within Canada ONLY.   Non Canadian customers please do not purchase, or we will need to refund. (This is due to US migratory bird regulations)
We have been not so much hunters but very good gatherers for a very long time.  Locally each year people hunt goose and snow goose legally along the Saint Laurence river near Montreal.  They eat the meat but the wings are not used.  We have arranged for an outfitter to save the wings for us.  Last year we brought them down a huge freezer…..when they filled it we drove down and picked up the wings.  We did this two times last fall and we are very well stocked in wings and feather.  They would have ended up all in the garbage.  We did not kill these birds for the feathers.  In our tradition we use all that is possible, we respect the lives of those around us and feel that to extend the medicine of these winged ones is respect for their gift.
These Fans are used for many purposes.  They are great for Smudging (burning medicines, sage, sweetgrass etc) and blowing /moving the smoke over someone/thing to be blessed or cleansed.  Our fans are also very popular for dancers.  In Powwows both men and women dancers have fans as part of their regalia.  These are perfect.

  • Organic loose-leaf ceremonial Tobacco

    25$ Canadian40$ Canadian

Our tobacco is is grown in Manitoba and is wonderfully moist and fragrant.  (Not intended to be rolled and smoked).  In the Indigenous tradition tobacco is a sacred medicine that is not meant to be abused or smoked outside of ceremony.  We have gone to great lengths to acquire this ceremonial tobacco.  It is in the raw loose leaf form, perfect for offerings or ceremony.  Shipped in linen bags with draw-ties.

Available in 1/4 or 1/2 pound bags.

  • Sweetgrass

    16$ Canadian20$ Canadian

Sweetgrass is one of the most important Traditional Medicines.  We are very picky about where we get our sweetgrass.  Some growths of sweetgrass are in crisis because of over picking or harvesting by pulling out the root.  At the moment we are working with two families who harvest sweetgrass, with ceremony and pluck the leaves without pulling the root.  Our large braids are very full and wide…they are from New Brunswick.  Our smaller braids are long but thinner, from Saskatchewan.  We keep our Sweetgrass carefully wrapped in a towel (towel smells really amazing!! Lol) so the grass is lush and still very green.  (Keep your sweetgrass wrapped up in a towel or leather otherwise it will lose its power and colour).

    Medium – 34″-36″ Long, 1″ wide   |   Large – 30″ Long, 1.5″ wide

  • White Sage

    10$ Canadian60$ Canadian

White or Buffalo sage is used in ceremony to purify or clean.  Most gatherings, ceremonies or sweats will begin with a smudging and mostly involving sage.  There are many different kinds of sage used in the community and our favourite is this White sage.  A small leaf will light very easily, blow out the flame, and will continue to smoke until it burns out.  Check out our fans or smudge kits as people will often use a fan to waft the smoke.  Available in loose leaf or as a tied sage stick.

Large Sage Stick (7.5″ long by 1.75″ Diameter)

    1/2 pound of loose sage.

    1 pound of loose sage.

  • Bear Grease – Goldenseal – Face Cream

    20$ Canadian

    Bear Grease – Goldenseal

Goldenseal power has been in our families ‘medicine chest’ for years.  As workers/crafters/drum makers when we cut ourselves, we reach for the goldenseal…..24 hours later all is good.  Goldenseal is a natural antibiotic and  will heal an infection like nothing else I have used..  This mixture is designed to be used for any cut or scrape.  Put a small amount on the wound and then crap with a bandage…I find you can leave the bandage on for a couple days….and then, cut gone!!!  Ingredients include pure bear grease, almond oil, goldenseal and shea butter.  Please keep in fridge long term.
    Bear Grease – Face Cream
I am sure that some of your are going squirm at the thought of putting bear grease on your face….but seriously this is the BEST cream ever.  Joywind is an avid fan of high quality facial cream and developed this recipe to rival the most fancy/expensive organic face cream on the market.  Ingredients include: pure bear grease, sweet almond oil, bees wax, shea butter, vitamin E, essential oils: Helichrysum and Geranium.  All ingredients are organic.

  • Scrap Leather Bags

    10$ Canadian
By popular demand we are adding our Moose Leather Scraps to our web site.  Famous across the Powwow trail (lol) when we set up people charge our booth looking for our scrap bags…and we sell out quickly….but off season what do we do with all of our scraps?…..well here they are.  This is a well stuffed large Zip-lock bag filled with a mixture of 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 ounce moose of many colours.  You can request preferences, and we will do our best.
  • Feather Boxes

    65$ Canadian

In the Native tradition we are taught to care for our feathers as they will help is in our search for peace and truth. Our feathers help ground us and bring us clarity. We wanted to make a feather case/box that would carry that respect we have for our feathers.  (feather NOT included)

We spent a long weekend recently designing what we thought was the perfect, coolest feather box we could come up with and we are very happy with the outcome. (Click picture for more details)

  • Medallions – Star

    250$ Canadian

In the Native community medallions have become the NDN answer to “bling”.  Over the past bunch of years extraordinary artists have evolved a craft that is uniquely Native.  We asked a bunch of friends from the Trail if they would like to share their work on our web site.  Each of these pieces are one of a kind.  The beaded rope is woven beads (not peyote stick) and is to be worn around the neck.  If you have a design you would like to have created….please message us.

  • 8” Razor Sharp Scissors

    26$ Canadian

These scissors are wonderfully designed to fit your hand.  When cutting rawhide lacing or strips of leather we can spend hours on a pair of scissors and an uncomfortable handle is the worst!!  A bad handle creates blisters, cramping of the hand and throwing of scissors.  But these sissors are just perfect. Wonderfully angled so that your hand will fit comfortable in the scissors for hours at a time. The edge is, as described “razor sharp” and stay sharps longer than any scissor we have worked with.

  • 5” Micro Tipped Scissors

    16$ Canadian

These scissors were made for beaders.  Cuts sinew perfectly. Trims the leather end of a piece of lacing to a clean point.  Nice and sharp and well formed these scissors snip what you need to cut horizontally.  Leaves a clean point for threading a needle, or stitching a moccasin.

  • Dog Rawhide Chews

    9$ Canadian16$ Canadian

This product comes strongly recommended by every dog in the neighbourhood!! We have been making drums for over 20 years and very quickly started taking the scraps rolling them up, letting them dry and giving them to our dogs. There are no preservatives, colouring, flavour added….just pure Rawhide.  Dogs visiting our house rush in the door past our legs to grab a dog chew from the basket…..so one of our dogs suggested during a family business meeting that we add them to our web site.  Who were we to say no…so nice of him to share….

  • Hole Punch

    80$ Canadian

We certify this Amazing Hole Punch!! As Drum makers we punch A LOT OF HOLES, in fact, Natives Punch A LOT OF HOLES!!
For years we were using those cheap commonly available punches but our arms were falling off. Those old punches require an impossible amount of physical force didn’t even cut a clean hole. Finally after buying every brand of punch available we discovered the wonderful Sprenger Hole Punch. This German made hole punch has a lever or ratchet action and requires 70% less physical force to cut holes. Cutting holes even through even the thickest of moose leather or raw hide is a breeze. Effortless!! You will be astonished!! The punch features 6 different sizes of holes.  The punch is not cheap, but at $80 this might be the very last hole punch you ever buy.
