“Old School” Ash Wood Rattle or Shaker. We are very excited to introduce or perhaps re-introduce these Shakers that has deep historical roots in the middle of Turtle Island. This rattle has lineage with the Algonquin and Ojibway people (and perhaps many more). Made by an Algonquin member of our team this rattle is 9″ long, steamed white ash wood of a single piece of wood. It is very tricky to get ash to bend in such a tight/small radius, but when it comes to steaming and bending I have to say, we are experts. (all our hand drums are steamed and bent white ash).
Available in deer and bear rawhide. The shaker is filled with a combination of sea polished pebbles, glass and copper beads. These rattles are clean, fine detailed musical instruments. We hope you like them.
