Cedarwood is a new colour we introduced last year that has quickly become as popular as our gold. We named it cedarwood because the colour resembled the cedar shingles on our house. There is tons of variations in shades and tones. The leather can be described as rustic or ‘antiqued’. If you like your art to have a natural feel you will love this colour. This is wild Moose from the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal Canada. We gather them from hunters and have them tanned at a local tannery. These quarter moose pieces are about 8 square feet (the tannery measures them).
Moose are wild animals and the leather has “normal” moose life experience built into it, but we always select the best pieces possible. (and we guarantee our hide if you are not happy we would replace it) If you are planning on using the suede side out, you might consider going for the ‘seconds’ to save some $$. Our seconds suede is 95% perfect…it is classified as seconds because the smooth side might be scraped or have some colour variation on the smooth side…but the suede side colour is very very even.
