Gold/Tan Full Moose ‘seconds’ special: People are always asking us what ‘seconds’ leather means. Here are 2 good examples. Both hides are seconds. Full moose, the piece on left is suede out, the smooth side has a good scuff in the middle, SO it gets called ‘seconds’. But look, the suede side is 95% perfect. Hide on the right, skin side out, well several small holes, SO get called ‘seconds’. But if you are making moccasins or mitts those small holes won’t bother your plans at all (suede side is also 95% perfect). We guarantee our hides so when we have really bad hide we keep them here and use them ourselves…we do our very best to never ship out bad hides.
