Cedarwood Buffalo-Bison Leather 5.5 ounce. This leather is thicker than our 3.5 and is more commonly used for bags, drum bags purses and for the real expert…moccasin and mukluks. The leather is patterned with lots of grain and character. These hides come from farmed buffalo and so they have a virtually perfect finish and colour. (wild hides are tricky to get perfect). This colour is a bit more rustic. Perfectly soft and sewable by hand..but trickier than 3.5.

This is our first Buffalo hide in several years. COVID had an odd effect on the supply of buffalo leather. Virtually all buffalo are farm raised and end up being served in restaurants….well you know what happened to restaurants… But now that we are back to ‘normal’ bison are being raised again and are entering the market. We will be rolling out a bunch of colours of buffalo over the next few weeks.
